Kres Consulting Pocket Work Orders 

***You must install Microsoft eMbedded Visual Basic Runtime for Pocket PC 2003 before installing Pocket Work Orders 2003.***

Microsoft eMbedded Visual Basic Runtime for Pocket PC 2003 Download and Installation

The installation file must be downloaded from the following web site.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/resources/downloads/developer/evb.mspx 

Download the file (msvbppc.armv4.cab) from the Microsoft web site. 

Copy the file to the "My Documents" folder on the Pocket PC using ActiveSync, My Computer, or Windows Explorer. 

On the Pocket PC, Select "Programs" from the Start Menu. 
Tap the "File Explorer" icon. 

Navigate to the "My Documents" folder where you copied the msvbppc.armv4.cab file 

Tap the msvbppc.armv4.cab file to install the eMbedded Visual Basic Runtime files. 

After installation is complete, follow the instructions below to install Pocket Work Orders

Pocket Work Orders Installation -------------------------------------------------


Use My Computer or Windows Explorer to locate the file pwo2003.exe. 

Make sure the Pocket PC is in the cradle and connected to the computer (Verify ActiveSync shows Connected). 

In My Computer or Windows Explorer, double click on the pwoinstall2003evb.exe file that was just downloaded. 

Select "Yes" when prompted to install Pocket Work Orders 

Select the "Setup" button from the message that appears. 

The next message will appear, you should leave the Destination set to C:\Program Files\Pocket Work Orders and click the "OK" button. (If prompted to create the directory, select Yes) 

When asked if you want to install Kres Pocket Work Orders into the default directory, click "Yes". 

When the installation is complete, the Pocket PC may ask for confirmation of file replacement, select "No To All". 

Registration----------------------------------------------------------

Registration of Pocket Work Orders must be done on a computer connected to the Internet. 

Make sure the Pocket PC is still in the cradle and connected to the computer. THE COMPUTER CONNECTED TO THE POCKET PC MUST ALSO BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET. 

Select "Pocket Work Orders" from the "Start" menu on the Pocket PC 
A message will pop up letting you know you must register Pocket Work Orders, Tap "OK" on the message window. 

Enter your company name, the users first name, and the users last name. 

Tap the "Get Registration" button to register the software. The software will connect to the 
Intenet and validate the registration. 

A message should appear letting you know the registration was successful. 

Click the "Close" button to close the registration window. 

Setup for use------------------------------------------------------------

In Pocket Work Orders, select the "Edit" menu then select "Edit User Settings" 

Make sure the User Name, Client Name, and Password are all correct as given to you by Kres Consulting. 

The Server, Upload URL, and Upload Port should already be set to the correct values. 

Select the correct Time Zone. 

Change the final 3 prefrences to your desired settings. 

You are now ready to use Pocket Work Orders.
